In 1994, M·A·C introduced Viva Glam, an outspoken deep red that was universal in its appeal and its glamour. In 1997, a second lipstick was created, Viva Glam II, a lightly pinked mauve. Viva Glam III, a foxy brown plum lipstick was launched in 2000. Viva Glam IV, a heartful rose charged with gold, was introduced in March 2002. In March 2004, Viva Glam V makes its debut, a clear, smooth, pure neutral pink with a delicious Lustre finish! Viva Glam VI, the newest member of the Viva Glam family, is a warm terracotta-plum with pearl finish. Wear it alone or finish it off with a coordinating coat of VIVA GLAM VI Lipglass. Lipstick is one of the easiest and quickest ways to transform your appearance. Lips and eyes are the most important focal points of your face so one must pay special attention to these areas while doing makeup. Lipstick staining your teeth makes you look extremely shabby. It helps keep your color looking balanced and accentuates your smile and friendly face. Applying lipstick with moisturizers and sun protection is one effective way to protect the lips from weather changes. Applying lipstick after drawing a crisp lip outline is an important key in the finishing touch since it helps to keep the color from bleeding.

How To Apply lipstick?

1. First prime your lips with a good base of foundation and powder to remove all color from your lips.

2. Carry your lipstick with you incase of accidental removal or just quick touch-ups.

3. Apply your lipstick as normal, with or without lip liner.

4. Continue the line of the upper lip, keeping your mouth closed and relaxed. Use short strokes, as they are easier than a continuous line.

5. Connect the lines drawn at the top and bottom center of your lips with the lines drawn at the corners of your mouth.

6. Blot your lips gently on a tissue, being careful not to smudge or remove too much color. Then brush on a second coat of lip color to create a deeper effect.

7. To hide lip lines, apply lipstick vertically.

Shaping up Your Lips

Knowing the shape of lips, you can correct your lip shape and can make you look attractive.

Thick lips - This type of lip appear smaller if you draw the outline just within the natural shape. You must use medium toned lip color and avoid dark brows, plums and pale shimmer shades .

Thin lips - They can be easily corrected by taking the pencil outside the natural lip line. Work on it slowly and steadily to get the perfect shape. Fill in with the lipstick. A highlight of frosting on the upper lip would create an impression of fullness .

Shapeless lips - Try to make the most flattering shape by stressing the centre of the lips and then fill.

Applying makeup when pimples are prominent can be quite a challenge for a woman.  But with a good set of procedures in place for doing this, it can work quite well.

The initial step should be to wash the face gently with cold water and a mild soap.  Preparation for application of makeup can be easier with proper hygiene. Over washing the face can actually damage the skin, but carefully washing the face once or twice a day, especially with cold water and a mild soap or cleanser can do wonders. Also proper skin care using moisturizers and exfoliants can help keep the skin clear and healthy and help to keep the acne problem in check.

Then apply an astringent when the face is dry.  This is universally available in any drugstore or pharmacy.

If there are a few blemishes, try using a concealer.  This goes right on the blemish and blends in nicely to hide the acne.  Then with your fingers carefully apply foundation to the blemished area.  Do it this way wherever needed.

After you have done this continue with the standard application of your makeup and then finish up by applying face power.  You will see that pimples will be much less prominent.

Note that makeup can have the problematic effect of clogging your pores.  Be sure to use a brand of makeup that will not clog pores.  These types of makeup have been designed and marketed to teenagers with acne problems. Many times this type of makeup will come with complete instructions.  Often these makeup products contain ingredients that kill bacteria and help clean out pores.

Many women choose not to wear makeup when acne is acting up, but the anxiety of teenage years can be lessened when one can wear makeup.  Covering up the unsightly blemishes can raise their self-esteem.  Every young woman with an acne problem must decide for herself as to what is best for her in this instance.

Also, consider consulting with a specialist -many department stores have makeup specialists who have receive specialized training in this area.  Many will themselves be able to relate to the plight of a teenage girl since they would have lived through those years themselves.

Many times these department stores will hold special workshops and seminars on makeup application.  These may be particularly useful for getting hands on experience in addition to getting some good advice on the subject of acne blemishes.  You will learn how to fight acne with proper skin care as well as how to cover them up when they surface.

With the myriad of specially designed products that fight acne and cover it up, applying makeup during an outbreak is easier than it used to be.

Eye Makeup

In this article we take a look at how to apply eyeliner with some tips on achieving some great effects.

One stunning effect that can be achieved easily and a favorite of such well-known actresses from Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe to Gwyneth Paltrow, is rimming the eyes with either a white or beige eye pencil. This has the effect of enlarging the white of the eye to create a seductive, alluring look.

To apply the eye pencil, pull your lid away from the eye very gently using one or two fingers and draw a line along the inner eye rims. Do the same with both the upper and lower lids. To make a sharpened pencil softer and easier to apply, you can draw a few lines first on the back of your hand. This will soften the tip and get the color flowing.

Kohl can be applied in the same way with sensational effect. The use of kohl goes back to ancient Egyptian times and is characteristic of eye makeup in the Middle and Far East. Apply your kohl pencil as described above to both the upper and lower rims, from corner to corner. Then, using either a sponge-tipped applicator, eyeshadow brush, or even your fingertip, blend the color by smudging it to create a smoky effect.

Once you are satisfied with the appearance, you will need to set it by using a light application of loose powder. For an even stronger, more intense effect, apply your preferred color around the eyes in either cream, liquid or powder form.

If you want to use liquid eyeliner, once you’ve mastered the technique of applying it, this can be a quick method of achieving a stunning and sophisticated look. But applying liquid eyeliner can take a little practice.

To begin, it’s best to be in front of a good magnifying mirror, so that your eyes are magnified sufficiently to see very clearly what you are about to do and ensure a smooth application of the liquid eyeliner. Then, using your free hand, start by pulling the eyelid taut. If you’re right-handed it’s probably easiest for you to start applying the liquid from left-to-right, as if you are writing, and vice versa if you are left-handed. Draw across in a single continuous fine line. If you want a thicker line then, at the end of the run, simply retrace.

A tip when applying liquid eyeliner is to apply it as close as possible to the eyelashes, even running into the eyelashes. This will avoid you getting that annoying white line effect between the lashes and the liner when the two don’t meet.

Applying liquid eyeliner does take some practice, so have a bottle of makeup remover to hand until you are confident in the technique. As they say: “practice makes perfect”, and with a little perseverance and a steady hand you’ll soon be achieving some great effects.

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

* Blush
* Blush Brush
* Eye Shadow
* Eyeliners
* Face Powder
* Foundation
* Lip Gloss
* Lipstick
* Makeup Brushes
* Mascara
* Foundation
* Lipstick

Step1

Understand that a ‘natural’ look is one that uses colors that are right for your skin tone. How much you use, and where, depends on your personal style.
Step2
Make sure your concealer is yellow in tone since it mutes imperfections without adding color, giving your skin a natural look.
Step3
Apply foundation that matches your skin tone. The right foundation will seem to disappear on your face. If you are African-American, it’s a good idea to have light, medium and dark shades of your foundation to allow for different gradations of color on different parts of your face.
Step4
Apply eye makeup in earthy tones’beige, brown, gold or plum for shadows and brown and charcoal gray for liner and mascara. Skip liner or shadow entirely if you want to keep makeup light.
Step5
Choose a blush color that is close to the color of your cheeks after you’ve exercised.

Eye Makeup

Instructions

different-colours

different-colours

Step1
Shop for shades that complement your skin and eye color. Look for colors that softly contrast with the shade of your eyes - not colors that match them exactly.
Step2
Choose simple, natural shades. If you opt for bright or trendy colors, be careful; they can look unnatural unless balanced with other suitable tones, and may go out of style as fast as they came in.
Step3

Buy colors that blend well together. You want your eyes to attract the attention, not any marked lines caused by your shadow.
Step4
Keep in mind that dark colors will minimize your eyes, while light shades will make them stand out.
Step5
Consider soft browns and tans with sandy or pink undertones for blue eyes.
Step6
Wear khaki and brown shades with yellow undertones for green eyes.
Step7
Accent dark brown and black eyes with brown and charcoal shadows.
Step8
Experiment. Head to a department store’s cosmetic counter and have your eyes made up by a professional. Ask for color combinations that could work for day and evening.

Things You’ll Need:

* Eyeshadow colors to experiment with.
* Time and patience to experiment.

Step1
Have an Idea of What Eyeshadow Colors Look Best

For blue eyes, lighter eyeshadow colors tend to bring the blue out the best. Colors such as light pink, light blue and white are all great options for people with blue eyes.

For green eyes, shades that are darker and more dramatic tend to look the best. Plumb purple, dark browns and dark shades of gray are your best options.

For brown eyes, earthy colors tend to look the best. Browns that are lighter or darker than your eye color, greens and pinks tend to be the best choices.
Step2
Try On Different Eyeshadow Colors

One of the best things that you can do in order to determine what eyeshadow color will look the best is try on different eyeshadow colors. You may want to stick with the colors that look the best in combination with your eye color, but you should never be afraid to go outside the realm.
Step3
Experiment, Experiment, Experiment

Once you have an idea of what eyeshadow colors look best in combination with your eye color, you may want to consider trying a variety of different shades. This can mean the difference between light purple and plumb purple or light gray and black.
