Shoes Background

Assemble your supplies - first, pick your image. For the above shoes, I obviously selected Pac-Man. Alternatively, I have also rocked some Care Bear shoes. Whatever words or image you want, either print a picture of it or draw it first. Next, acrylic paints are cheap, easy, and perfect for this! Choose the colors you need to make the image you want. All of the shoe needs to be painted (even if the base color of the shoe already matches the background you want), so make sure you get enough paint to cover the shoe. You can also use Painters markers. **If you do are using textile medium rather than a sealer at the end, follow instructions on bottle for adding textile medium**
Paint the entire shoe in your background color. This will make them MUCH easier to clean than leaving it as it came.Draw out your image/words onto your shoes unless you can paint well enough to not make many mistakes.Paint your lighter colors first whenever possible. If you end up messing up a little and going over a color, it’s easier to adjust this way. Then paint the darker parts. Be sure to go over as many times as you need to achieve the precise color and brightness you desire.
When shoes are totally dry and just how you want them, (if you did not use textile medium) take them outside and spray with Scotchguard or Acrylic sealer. You can do this even if you used a textile medium if you want for easy cleanup, but it’s not necessary. The spray or medium will allow your shoes to be washed or go out in rain without worrying about any colors washing off or cracking or anything!
