Instructions

Step1
Look for a great clump-free and smudge-free mascara and invest in an eyelash curler as well. Pick up a black smudge-proof eyeliner in black with a fine applicator tip. Also pick up a deep blue and deep gray eyeliner. Avoid liquid eyeliners unless you are very good with applying eyeliner and have the time to do it just right.
Step2
Choose a taupe eye shadow with a gold undertone. Avoid anything with a pink or blue undertone. Pick a complimentary sand or mocha eye shadow only a shade or two deeper for a natural look, and again, find one with gold undertones. Avoid anything super metallic, cakey, shiny, as well as anything with a bright white base.
Step3
Apply eyeliner to the upper eyelid. For creaseless eyelids, it may actually be easier to start with the outer corner and finish in the inner corner. Keep the line thin, tight to the lash line, and extend just a little bit beyond the outer edge of the eye in a subtle “tail.” You can also line the outer third of the lower lid for a more dramatic look, but in general it isn’t necessary with creaseless eyelids and, in fact, can make the eyes look smaller.
Step4
Use an eye primer or concealer on your eyelids before you add the shadow if your makeup tends to move on you. Use a soft, rounded eye shadow brush to apply the deeper shadow first from your lash line to just below the middle of your eyelid. Sweep the shadow out from the inner corner of your eyelid at an angle to the outer corner of your eyelid forming a soft wedge shape.
Step5
Brush the lighter eye shadow on the inner corner of your eyelid and then over the rest of the eyelid, focusing the shadow on the brow bone. This allows you to blend the lighter shadow over the darker one, which makes it easier to avoid smudgy, dark blend lines.
Step6
Curl your eyelashes and then apply two thick coats of mascara to highlight your eyes and add extra drama. Use a clean mascara wand or eyelash comb to get rid of any clumps and separate your eyelashes.
