Jordan shoes

November 16th, 2009 by admin

jordan-shoesSince the 80’s, Nike has dominated the popular tennis shoe market. They have always been the leader, but took control when they began bringing Michael Jordan, Lebron James and Tiger Woods on board to sponser their shoes. These popular sports stars added their big-name status to the Nike brand. To obtain these endorsements by the celebrity sports superstars, Nike spends almost 500 million dollars annually. Apparently, it is working for them.

Their most popular shoe is the signature shoe by Michael Jordan called the Air Jordan. It remains popular after 20 years in the market and despite the fact the he is no longer playing basketball.

One of Nike’s best moves was the design of their logo. The famous Nike swoosh makes any Nike product instantly identifiable. The original Nike logo was a basketball with wings and was found on both sides of the shoe as well as near the tongue of the shoe.

This logo was changed to a depiction of a basketball player in air dunking a basketball when they released the 4th generation of the shoes. This logo became known as the “jumpman” and could be found in several places on the shoe.

The feature of the Air Jordan tennis shoe that has made it so popular is that Nike designed the shoe to bring in air to the soles. This feature makes the shoe very comfortable and it is this type of new technology that has given Nike the reputation of being innovators in the tennis shoe market.

Even though this feature continues to be extremely popular, Nike has continued to inprove their Air Jordan shoe. They did this by adding a pump that makes the shoe adjustable and adds even more comfort to the wearer.

The price of the shoe that you could once buy for $20 has skyrocketed. With a price tag of up to $300, these shoes are no longer cheap.

The expense has created another entire market in the tennis shoe industry - the wholesale market. On the internet, where there is great competition, you can find these shoes for wholesale prices. This will require work on your part but is well worth you time.

Just like with other big name products like Coach, Donney & Bourke, and Rolex, their is a black market of counterfeiters. Unless you want to be cheated out of your money, you have to pay close attention to what you are buying. Here are some tips to help you find a wholesaler:

1. Know your product so you can’t be fooled by “knock-offs”.

2. Always check to make sure you are dealing with a reputable company before you pay them any money.

3. To find wholesale tennis shoes, search for the term “wholesale tennis shoe” or the specific brand of what you are looking for. The search should return a list of wholesale dealers.

4. Narrow this list down by checking out each wholesaler and deleting those that aren’t reputable.

5. Check each wholesaler with the Better Business Buereau. Check them out online and their physical location.

6. Call each wholesaler and ask for references. If they are a reputable company, they should not mind giving you this information.

7. If they are reputable, ask for the price, shipping costs, and their return policy.

8. Don’t just go with the company that has the cheapest price. If their price is markedly cheaper, this should send up a red flag indicating that they probably are selling knock-offs.

Prep the lid.  The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base (also called “primer”). I prefer to dab at bit of MAC’s ‘paint’ on lids before shadow application. Or try Fresh Freshface Perfecting Eye Primer.

# Apply eyeliner. If you’re going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If your opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smokey eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.

# Blend in color on bottom lashes For color on the bottom (a key smokey eye look) you’ll want a lighter eyeliner. The key is to “smudge it.” You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.

# Apply light base color Again, the key to a smokey eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone. I love Stila’s whipped eye shadows $20. The moist “mousse” consistency seems to stay on forever. My favorite colors are taupe and pearl.

# Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease. Now that you have the base and eyeliner on, it’s time to get the smoky effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your lash line, blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at crease.

# Doublecheck your work Make sure eyes match and blend color with a Q-tip if need be.

# Finish with several coats of volumizing mascara. Tried and true mascaras (featured in “Elle” magazine) include DiorShow Mascara & L’Oreal Paris Volume Shocking Mascara. Elle’s writer says they are the best volumizers she’s tried.

Smokey Eyes

In terms of eye makeup, is there anything sexier and more sophisticated than the classic Smoky Eye Look?  There sure isn’t!  That’s why almost every page of today’s magazines has a picture of a beautiful model or a celebrity sporting  (what else?) – the smoky eye look!

So, if you feel you are ready to join this fabulous team, and you too want to master the Smoky Eye technic, you came to the right place!  Simply follow the 7 easy steps below and before you know it, you’ll be rocking the gorgeous Smoky Eye Look yourself!

Begin by applying a light shade of concealer to the under eye area, and all over the top lid. Your mineral makeup foundation is a great concealer for this step and prepares your Eyes for the eyeshadow that you are going to apply.

First, line both the top and bottom rims with an eye pencil, paying close attention to going into the lash line itself. If you have small eyes apply liner starting from the middle of the under eye to the outside of the eye. If your eyes are large feel free to line from corner to corner.

Hint: If you are using liquid liner you can place dots on the lash line and then follow the dots to get a perfectly straight line. I knew those connect the dot puzzles I did as a kid would come in handy some day!

With a small eye shadow brush or a q-tip, soften the edges of the eye pencil line.Apply a dark shadow using a sponge-tip applicator, smudge brush or a q-tip directly over the penciled area and smudge. (If you prefer, you can use your finger tip.)The shadow helps to set and soften the look.

How to Apply Eye Makeup

Now that you know what to use, let’s begin learning how to apply eye makeup to create brilliant, beautiful eyes.
Learn which colors are right for you.
Learn which colors are right for you.
Step One: Lids

Many eye shadows come in sets of three complimentary colors with three different values; light medium and dark. You can also choose from frosted or matte finish.

Begin by applying the lightest shade to the upper portion of your eyes, along the brow bone.

Next, use the medium shade to color your lids. Begin at the inner corner and stroke to the outer edge of the eye lid. Then use your fingertip to lightly blend the light and medium shades together where they meet near the crease.

Now it’s time to use the darkest shade to add some contouring and depth. This technique will give you that smokey-eyed look. Beginning at the inner corner, follow the crease to the outer edge of your eyes. You can also add a little more of the darkest color to edge of the lids, just above the lashes. Then, once again, use your fingertip or brush to blend and soften the lines.
Step Two: Liner

Apply a thin line of liner along the base of your lashes on top and bottom. Here are a few tips to create different effects:

* To make eyes appear more wide set, begin your line one quarter of the way out from the inner corners. The beginning should be very thin, and grow slightly wider toward the edge.
* To make extremely wide set eyes appear closer, apply a slight amount of the darkest shade of shadow just near the inner corners of each lid and begin your liner right at the inner edges of your lash line.

Step Three: Mascara

Mascara looks best when it is just applied to the tips of your lashes. Repeated light brush strokes should separate the lashes and build a nice coating that darkens and extends the length of your lashes. Take great care not to leave clumps of mascara on your lashes. The idea is to make them look as natural as possible.
